  • Working with Ed for the last few years...

“Working with Ed for the last few years has been truly transformative for myself as well as my relationships to work, home and my wife. Ed listens to me ramble about my seemingly complex situation and all of its intricate minutiae, and with a few succinct questions, he is able to pull me out of my thinking brain and back into being. I can then step back and observe the situation I’m describing rather than being bound inside of it. His words echo in my daily life and allow me to recenter and remain in awareness. I am a profoundly different and more defined person thanks to his wisdom and teaching, and look forward to the challenges to come instead of fearing problems that have to be solved." ~ Cory Fitzgerald, Partner in Silent House Group Los Angeles, California

  • Dr. Gurowitz’s outstanding book defines

Dr. Gurowitz’s outstanding book defines "transformation" as "a shift in the locus [the place where something is situated or occurs] of identity from content to context." Transformation could be said to arise from distinguishing ontologically — that is, at the level of being — "context" from "content." This is easier said than done because it is not a distinction we make in the ordinary course of living. We are born into a default paradigm for being whereby we occur for ourselves (and others) as a product of some combination of nature and nurture, as a fixed collection of properties or characteristics that is difficult or impossible to alter, and as victims of our experiences and circumstances. If we are able to distinguish context ontologically, the resulting transformation in our way of being is sustained and made real in our everyday lives by "practice, over time, in community." ~ Alan L. Miles, Attorney at Law
